What I hear:
I'd like for you to think we're on the same level of bullshit intellectualism, so as far as you know I like to read until we have an actual conversation about any books that I've read ever.
Then you might realize that while I read books, I never read into books nor have I read any kind of classic written before 2007 that wasn't required reading in high school, assuming I even read those books.
What I also sometimes hear:
OMG I love all the books they made me read in high school but never progressed beyond any of them, so I'm going to tell you how they're my favorite and regurgitate everything my teacher at the time said about them.
